Dynamic Crane

OVERHEAD CRANE FOR AUTOMATIC OVERHEAD LOADING OF FLAT GLASS SHEETS FROM FIXED VERTICAL STANDS OR FROM AUTOMATIC CLASSIFIERS

Automatic overhead travelling crane designed to automatically pick up flat float glass sheets from fixed vertical racks (A-shaped or L-shaped) or from automatic classifiers before automatically transferring them to special tilt tables for subsequent transfer to one or more cutting lines.

The "Dynamic" automatic overhead crane features an innovative combination of three important features:

  • - reaching the sheet pick-up position by travelling overhead to the glass warehouse, even transversely
  • - loading jumbo sheets, half sheets or even residuals
  • - loading smaller sheets, side by side on the same stand and arranged in packs with different depths.

These important and innovative functions are guaranteed by a unique and characteristic sheet clamp assembly that has folding ends depending the required machining operation:

  • - ends of the arms are open: the crane flies over the glass warehouse
  • - the ends of the arms are closed: the overhead crane loads smaller glass sheets or takes the residual and returns it to the glass warehouse.

The sheet clamp unit has special levers to separate the glass sheets safely, it can rotate around its vertical axis to load Low-E sheets and its special configuration means the overhead crane can be positioned anywhere in the glass cutting warehouse area, thus optimising space.

Automation is managed via the latest PC-based control technology, which combines the flexibility and performance of PCs with the robustness and stability of PLCs, thus enabling plants to achieve high performance in complete safety and reliability. Management and control takes place via an independent control panel which communicates directly with the float glass and laminated glass cutting lines, with which it continuously exchanges information in a perfectly integrated manner, before automatically receiving the loading or unloading lists and returning the remaining glass sheet to the warehouse.
